The Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple is located in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown. It is an excellent place to visit if you need a break from the Chinatown crowds or shopping. I’ve included a picture of the plaque on the entrance wall that provides some historical information about the Temple, so look at it if such information interests you. One interesting note: you can see worshippers walk on burning hot coals in October and November.
Whenever you go, just remember to take your shoes off before entering. And read the signs: there is an expectation that you will make a small donation if you intend on taking photographs.
